What do you do after being on the international board of EESTEC for one year? You pass it on to the next person! And for this, both the old and new boards meet at the event called Handover Board Meeting (HOBOM). For this, we had to go to Munich.
HoBoM was six full long days of handing over our knowledge, the way we do things, and the way we probably should do things. The topics covered ranged from looking at our strategic plan to group dynamics and operational events. All handled in great detail. In addition, the new Board got quite some time to start working on their first tasks, and they made good progress on their annual plan and ensured they work together smoothly. Meanwhile, the old board got to do some finishing touches on their work.
But, being in Munich, it wasn’t just all hard work. EESTEC LC Munich prepared plenty of fun for us! It started with laser tag on one night, and continued with delicious German food in a famous “Hofräuhaus” the next night. Of course, we couldn’t miss the international night, which, for me for the first time, happened outside, next to a pretty lake, with tasty German Currywurst, Greek Tzatziki, Swiss Raclette, and many more European delicious foods and drinks. In order to see some more of Munich, we went on a city rally and worked our way through challenges. Despite finding Munich’s surfing spot and getting married, we also discovered that the Technical University of Munich also has “Katakomben”, similar to ETH. A trip is highly advised!
I wish all the best to our successors and all the lovely people in Munich!
