40 minutes before departure, we gathered at Zurich main station. Super early to compensate for any delay Deutsche Bahn may have, or, as some may say, due to the fact that CP was lazy enough not to edit the survival guide. Without any noticeable delay for German standards, we arrived in the middle of nowhere. Luckily, after a ten minute walk, there were some signs of civilization. We were eagerly awaiting the Swiss night starting with a lovely raclette –everybody loves cheese, right? With only a three-hour delay, apparently they were never this early, it was time to really kick off this IMW.
The first evening was some animal/onesie party, but it really peaked at midnight, when we enjoyed fresh Pizza Burek straight from Ljubljana! As far as I remember, there were no crazy things going on, but some cocktails later, Ismail, the driver of Ljubljana (still don’t know his name) and I were decorating the 50 songbooks for the SitSit the next evening. We let the night fade out with some relaxing yoga, while others already started preparing breakfast.
I was asleep the whole Saturday afternoon, but apparently, there was a hike which looked pretty dope. The winner of the group contest will probably never be known, but it was all about the group kissing anyways, wasn’t it? You could also spray your own event T-shirt, which is a win/win for the OC and participants if you ask me.
The SitSit in the evening already set the mood perfectly. It took some time till everyone was saturated – Melon Boobs! – and showed off their Lederhosen, but the kitchen staff did an excellent job and hopefully nobody was disappointed. At the genderswap party, EESTECers revealed not only their alter egos, but also their improvisation skills. Last minute costumes, make-up and hairstyling turned the dance floor into a room so hot that not even the non-working heating could stop us.
One thing the cold could stop however was the fuel flowing on Ljubljana’s car – they get a lot of mentions here for only being four people, chapeau! After pouring hot water on it for half of the day, they eventually had to call for help. Luckily, they also did manage to get home.
Finally, I recommend you to join the ultra secret telegram chat, only joinable by scanning the QR-Code on the exclusively custom designed Mass for this event (there still are a few left for sale, reach out if you want one #notsponsoredbtw).
