The workshop Women in Engineering and Technology will be addressing a variety of topics concerning women working and studying in engineering and related fields, with a particular focus on developing leadership skills, confronting the “leaky pipeline” issue as well as gender stereotyping in engineering. The local and international participants will partake in lectures and seminars held by the office of equal opportunities of the ETH and the Women in Engineering Affinity Group of IEEE Switzerland, receive leadership and management soft skills training from Trainers of the EESTEC Training Team and engage in discussions with female professors and visit their labs at our university, the ETH, a world-renowned institution having educated some of the best engineers and scientists in Switzerland and the world. In addition, participants will get the chance to visit the offices of a large engineering company and exchange ideas and experiences with a successful female engineer and discuss how to manage motherhood whilst building a successful career in engineering.
