Women in Engineering and Technology 4 & Takashi’s Castle

The workshop addressed a variety of topics concerning women working and studying in engineering and related fields, with a particular focus on developing leadership skills, confronting the leaky pipeline issue as well as gender stereotyping in engineering. The local and international participants took part in a full-blown program and got an overview of career prospects in academia, the industry as well as entrepreneurship.

The week started with a company visit by KPMG followed by a lab tour on Monday. On Tuesday and Wednesday, the participants got time to discuss the situation of women in engineering fields in each other’s countries and in Switzerland during Q&A rounds with successful female ETH professors. The afternoons were filled with more lab tours. We also invited Dalia as a trainer, who held two Soft Skill Trainings together with our local trainer Philipp Butschle. On Friday, we concluded the official workshop with a city tour by Zurich Tourism and a short sightseeing tour in Luzern on the way to our IMW “Takashi’s Castle”.
