Autumn Congress Belgrade

Ah, EESTECers, we came, we saw, and we partied like true Balkan legends! Belgrade, in all its chaotic beauty, welcomed us with open arms (and endless shots), setting the stage for one of the most iconic congresses in recent memory. If you weren’t there, well… you definitely missed out. But fear not, let me take you through the madness, one EESTEC-fueled moment at a time.

Day 1: Business Attire & Red Carpet Glamour

Who would’ve thought that a bunch of EESTECers would be casually strolling down a red carpet, entering the House of the National Assembly of Serbia, and pretending to be serious professionals? That’s right – passport checks, security screenings, and a dress code stricter than your grandma’s Sunday lunch etiquette. But we did it. We sat in the seats of Serbian politicians (definitely more productive than most of them), debated like true diplomats, and paved the way for the future of our association.

Of course, what better way to balance out all that sophistication than with International Night? The Faculty of Civil Engineering transformed into an international buffet of questionable alcohol choices and proudly homemade delicacies. Flags were waved, traditional dances were attempted (and failed spectacularly), and friendships were forged over shared bottles.

The General Meetings: Survival of the Strongest

Three days of GMs, filled with heated debates, strategic voting, and moments of deep introspection (mostly about life choices after International Night). Some came prepared, some just came for the coffee, and some heroically powered through on zero sleep and pure EESTEC spirit. Legends were made, motions were passed, and somehow, democracy survived.

Trivia, Cocktails, and The End of an Era

If you thought your brain cells survived International Night, the Pub Quiz was here to finish the job. Knowledge, strategy, and sheer luck determined the winners, while the losers drowned their sorrows in more drinks. And just when you thought it couldn’t get better – the last evening arrived. Cocktails, music, and an energy so electric it could power a small Serbian village.

With GMs behind us and one final party ahead, we danced like there was no tomorrow, laughed like we hadn’t spent three days locked in meetings, and raised our glasses one last time to the friendships that make EESTEC what it is. Živeli!

The Afterparty: Because One Week Wasn’t Enough

For those who survived the Congress (or refused to accept reality just yet), the Afterparty IMW was waiting. The theme? Animal Kingdom. The challenge? Survive another round of Belgrade’s legendary nightlife. The results? Chaos, costumes, and questionable life choices. From Winter Fairytale moments to a City Rally full of rakija-fueled adventures, we pushed our limits, embraced the madness, and ended things the only way we know how – in Anything But Party Clothes, drinking like royalty, dressed like absolute clowns. And both evenings ended again at the faculty for the after-afterparty because if it ain’t broken, don’t fix it.

Final Thoughts: Until We Meet Again…

Belgrade, you were everything we expected and more. To the OC – you absolute heroes, thank you for making this chaos possible. To the participants – you are the reason why we keep coming back. And to future EESTECers – start preparing now, because next time, you’re not going to want to miss it.

Until the next congress, stay hydrated (with water, for once), and remember: EESTEC never sleeps.
